As of February 2020, St. Vincent de Paul Place became the proud the owner of our location at 120 Cliff Street where we have been operating since 2012. This former primary school of St. Joseph Church has the space to meet the demands of our programs with room to grow.
Our new home was originally built in the 1920s. We have completed over $300,000 in upgrades to date, including:
- Installed a new roof
- Replaced and repaired wiring
- Repaired the septic system
- Renovated the kitchen and installed energy efficient equipment
Capital Improvement Projects
Repointing (In progress)
This is our most pressing need. The outer walls of our building are porous and need to be repaired. The process of repairing bricks and mortar is called repointing. We have secured over half the funds to begin the work in summer 2021.
HVAC and New Windows (In progress)
This project is fully funded through the Neighborhood Assistance Act and a private donation. We will purchase new HVAC equipment and replace decades old windows on our first floor. We will install these in the summer of 2021.
Walk in Refrigerator and Freezer (In progress)
This project is fully funded. We currently use several large refrigerators and freezers which are not very efficient. We would like to install a walk in frigerator and freezer for our Dining Room program.
Elevator (Future)
Our building has four floors connected by two stairwells. In order to make better use of the third and fourth floors, especially for patrons who cannot climb stairs, we would like to install an elevator.
